Emberside Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19th August, 2026

Emberside ("the app", "we", "us") is developed and operated by Emma Tanner, an individual developer based in Australia. This policy explains what information Emberside collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

  • ‍Account information: the email address (or other sign-in identifier) used to create and secure your account.

  • Health and wellbeing entries you choose to log: meal/snack structure check-ins, emotional capacity, brain-speed/energy state, emotion tags, urge check-ins, coping/support tool usage, and any journal or reflection text you write.

  • Usage data: device type, app version, and crash/error logs, used only to keep the app working correctly.

  • We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or browsing history, and we do not use advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers.

How we use this information

  • To operate the app's core features: showing your check-in history, generating your personal trend summaries, and enabling the optional support-team sharing feature. To maintain and improve the app (bug fixing, performance monitoring). We do not use your health entries for advertising, and we do not share them with data brokers.

Sharing your information

  • Your health and wellbeing entries are private by default and visible only to you.

  • If you use the "share with my team" feature, you control what is shared (a generated trend summary, not raw entries, unless you explicitly opt a specific entry in) and with whom, via an expiring, revocable link. You can revoke access at any time.

  • We use third-party service providers to host and store data securely on our behalf (e.g. [name your hosting/backend provider — confirm with your Emergent build's infrastructure]). These providers do not have independent rights to use your data beyond providing that service.

  • We will only disclose your information without consent if required by law, or if we believe it necessary to prevent serious harm to you or someone else. Emberside is not a crisis service or emergency response tool - if you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services or a crisis line directly.

Data storage and security

  • Data is stored on [hosting provider and region — confirm with your backend]. We use industry-standard security measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

  • You can access, export, or delete your data at any time from within the app, or by contacting us at emma@littlehivetherapy.com.au. Australian users have rights under the Australian Privacy Principles (Privacy Act 1988). Users elsewhere may have additional rights under local law (for example, the GDPR in the EU/UK); contact us and we will do our best to accommodate these.

Age requirement

  • Emberside is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the app and provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

  • We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email where possible.
